(That said, the others mentioned here are all worthy...my first show was also 1-11-79 and that one does indeed cook and roast and burn...but 10/29/77 is the gold standard, IMHO.

Speaking of respect, while maybe not in the "best ever" class, this one, replete with Phil bombs flying about like crazed pterodactyls (even I'm not sure what that means), is certainly up there.

Thanks to everyone who contributed. It was a blast listening to so many versions of JS! Thanks especially for the post-Feb 1979 suggestions. I listen to Keith or PigPen era shows about 50 times more often than Brent or Vince shows, and it's great to be reminded of how many brilliant moments the band had post-Keith.
